Popular project management software receives long awaited Widget from CSM

Category: ,

Clear Span Media is first to market with another winning Widget, this time its Headquarters the BaseCamp Widget. But read on and find out more.

BaseCamp is wildly popular in some pretty big circles and among the avid fans are names like Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com and Fast Company, Business 2.0, Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Time, Inc. magazine, Financialtimes.com, Salon.com, PC Magazine, PC World, InformationWeek, the Chicago Tribune and MIT’s Technology Review… just to name a few.

BaseCamp aficionados love the application and even Jim Dunnigan, former product manager for Microsoft Project sings its praises as “nice to see someone finally figured it out.” So in a phrase: BaseCamp is cool stuff.

So everyone thinks BaseCamp needs a Widget to give rapid, on demand access to critical data. The need for a BaseCamp Widget has been touted in the above-named circles and somewhat of a race has been ongoing to develop said Widget.

Well, some folks have promised a BaseCamp Widget and some have said they would be the ones to create it.

However, quietly developing in the Clear Span Media Widget Laboratory the BaseCamp Widget grew. Once again Clear Span Media brings the definitive creation to the Widget market. While others toiled – Clear Span Media got it done. The result is Headquarters – The BaseCamp Widget.

First to Market with the BaseCamp Widget Clear Span Media delivers a clean and highly functional Widget. Displaying a profound talent for understanding market application as well as Widget design and function, Clear Span Media is the Widget developer par excellance.

Enjoying hundreds of downloads in the first few hours Headquarters clearly filled a void as the accepted BaseCamp Widget.

We think Keith Mason of www.newformula.org tells it well:

“…the widget I use most is ‘Headquarters’ from Clear Span Media. This runs under Yahoo Widget Engine (formerly Konfabulator), which has to be installed on your Windows machine first. I think the widget is fairly fresh, and at the minute only gives read-only access to your Basecamp account. This however is a pretty good start, and it’s now permanently embedded on my work desktop. You can drill through to-do’s, contacts, messages and milestones on a per project basis pretty efficiently. I look forward to the time when you can write changes back to your Basecamp account with this – I’d definitely consider paying for it too. Another example of a widget well done – saving time by having a focused purpose.”

“A Widget well done,” indeed Keith! Thanks for the great review. And, of course you’ll pay for it.

But, let’s get back to tooting our own horn. Clear Span Media has developed some of the most popular Widgets on the market. And our corporate Widget client list is steadily growing. Being an early adopter of this technology has given us an edge that spells repeated success in Widget design. Oh, and being really, really good at it doesn’t hurt, either.

So to all of you BaseCamp lovers out there, thanks for your downloads and the ubiquitous toasting and lifting of the Red Bull. Look forward to further developments in Headquarters – The BaseCamp Widget, soon.

And to the entire aforementioned circle… all of you need Widgets for your publications. Clear Span Media is the one to call on. You’ll find a link to us on your BaseCamp Widget.

To put it in a phrase: BaseCamp and Clear Span Media are cool stuff.
