We at Clear Span Media are experiencing explosive growth in a new field for us. Actually this particular field is new for everybody. The really cool Widget.
Yes, the word widgets has always described a nifty little (Here’s another one of those words) gadget that was indescribably handy and coooool. You know the sort of thing that competed with Spacely Sprockets and nearly caused George Jetson to lose his job.
Well, George, the Widget is actually your friend.
Last year, about this time, a small group of highly talented and snazzily-dressed developers launched a platform for Windows that allows dispersing data in a practical format and places the gathered data on anyone’s desktop. And Sweet Potato Pie! The Widget was born!
Well, at first blush CSM was in love with this clever tool. And as true love stories go the Widget was in love with us, too.
Long story short(er), 12 months and over a quarter of a million downloads later Clear Span Media is riding a big wave of Wacky Widgetry©. Our public Widgets are all the rage with a loyal, and vocal, following from all over the world.
From the hallowed halls of knowledge to blue-chip corporations, individuals and groups have fallen in love with the Clear Span Media Widget.
And why not? You can have a Widget keep track of your Gmail, have another monitor auction items on eBay and if you simply must go out of doors at these gas prices let a different CSM widget check the lowest gas prices in your zip code area.
And this is just the beginning.
If there is data and you want it on someone’s desktop, the Widget is the way of today and tomorrow. Any company that wants to access databases and statistics for a client’s use or if you want to offer inventory that changes or is updated regularly the Widget is the best way.

And, two, they all went to work for Yahoo which bought the Konfabulator platform all for their widdle selves. Leaving us at the mighty – mighty top of a very long list of fine Widget developers.
And also a big thanks to Yahoo who has made the Konfabulator app free to the public for their happy use. And I must mention that Konfabulator is now officially Yahoo Widgets. (Legal stuff over)
